Tour in the heart of Romania, from Transylvania to Bucovina

transilvania medievale, le sue fortificazioni e castelli

With this tour you will visit places and cities among Romania's best-known and famous worldwide. Transylvania , Bucovina and Moldova will give completely different ideas as well as to offer suggestions of great cultural interest and is really interesting to observe the slow rural life, the art of cities and monasteries, the bounty of genuine food and the friendliness of the people.

The castles of Peles (at the Sinaia mountain resort and the residence of the kings of Romania) and Bran (the infamous Dracula Castle) are only the first two pieces of a cultural puzzle. Important stage of the tour is the city of Sibiu, an important Saxon city, named European capital of culture in 2007 with its completely renovated old town as well as its streets, churches and much more. The wonders to be discovered will be continued with the medieval town of Sighisoara, famous for its medieval architectural beauty (recently renovated), also for being the birthplace of Vlad III Dracula. Along the tour route will also be visited the small medieval village of Biertan, known for its imposing fortified church of Saxon origin.

The journey to the Bucovina will lead us to other two touristic objectives: the center of the city of Targu Mures and the landscape that you can enjoy from Tihuta pass. First stage is represented by a stop in Bucovina is the village Vama, the starting point for visiting the monasteries at Moldovita, Voronet and Sucevita, Humor, UNESCO World Heritage site known for its frescoes and colors that characterize them. Art and folklore are the strong points of Bucovina and here we see a demonstration at artist-craftsmen of how hand painted eggs and black ceramic objects are produced.

The Romanian part of Moldavia sees in the city of Piatra Neamt an interesting tourist attraction with the Tower of Stefan cel Mare (Stephen the great). We will visited the monasteries of Neamt, Agapia and the latter is administered and inhabited by several hundred nuns. The road of return foresees a stop in Brasov, the ancient city of the Crown with an important historical center, the black church, the White Tower and other wonders - testimony of a rich past and prolific in art and culture.

Have a nice trip!
