Tour "riding to Transylvania"

Palazzo del popolo - di Ceausescu

The Carpathian Mountains represent the largest area of untouched nature in the Central and Eastern Europe. More than a third of wolves, bears and lynx live in these impressive mountains. At the foot of the Carpathian Mountains lies the village of Sinca Noua, a picturesque small village inhabited by about 2000 persons. Here, the time here has stopped: the shepherds lead their flocks on the mountain as they do for hundreds of years, during the evening, cows and buffalo are reported by their pastures to the village to the sound of the buzzing of insects and the chirping of sparrows and swallows. Hoopoe, bee-eaters, storks and eagles are often seen in these parts to outline an incredible wealth of flowers in all their colors. Ours is a new riding club whose works were completed in 2004, which combines local traditions with the convenience of standard occidental. The center has a new, very modern guesthouse offers mostly organic food product is from a company from the surrounding villages. The horses are Arab and Shagya-Arab, Kisbari, Gidran Hungarian and other crossings. The blend of the horse provides an animal that can be ridden a bit by all, from beginners to experienced riders, discovering between the horses fast and fierce animals, but also horses that are calm. All horses are resistant and full of vitality and are used to the mountains. The owners of the equestrian center, Barbara and Christoph direct the center and they have been promoters, during the last ten years, for the project in favor of the Carpathian Large Carnivore, the largest research project and conservation of large carnivores in the center - east Europe. During this time they gained a great experience with these and are happy to share their stories about wolves, bears and lynxes. As we are speaking, they are again involved in several conservation projects in the hills of Transylvania and the Carpathian Mountains.

First day : Bucharest (150Km), Arrivo

aereoport baneasa Arrival at the airport from Bucharest where the transfer will be made to the guesthouse in Sinca Noua (about 3 hours) through the spectacular mountains. At arrival there will be a welcome drink, dinner and in contact with the team of our center will be presented an introduction to the holiday week.

Second and third day : Journey to the mountains

aereoport baneasa After the breakfast we will make a tour for the presentation of the farm and the horses. Soon after, we will be carried out a ride through the fields and at the foot of the mountains. The hills offer a fantastic view, a view of the fields and off at a trot or gallop. You will be impressed by the variety of wild flowers and cross the tracks of bears and wild boars. We'll go to a forest path through a vast forest of the Carpathian Mountains and we will follow the course of a long valley to the mountains. The forests have never been cut and our path will be surrounded by huge beech and fir. After a stop for lunch on a mountain range with spectacular views you will return in the early evening to the base. In the evening will be shown a video presentation of the research project and the conservation of which our guests have occupied before starting the activities. In the following day we will ride through the hills and valleys surrounding the area passing through ancient paths over 100 years old and built during the Austro-Hungarian Empire, through the fields with cows and buffaloes, with the chance to follow the tracks of bears, wild boar, red deer , wolves and lynxb>. There will be many opportunities to trot or canter to go on the various fields. On Monday evening, there will be the opportunity to visit a hidden location, not far from the guest house, where you have the chance to observe wild brown bears.

Fourth Day : Rest for the mare and history of Transylvania

aereoport baneasa The day of the rest of the horses will be dedicated to the discovery of the true history of Transylvania. We will leave Sinca Noua and by car, we will make a journey of about an hour through the quiet Saxon village until we reach one of the most famous, Viscri, with its known fortified church (UNESCO World Heritage), after a journey of 10 km of road dirt. Viscri, a Saxon settlement, with a German minority, of the last 900 years. In 1990, many villages were abandoned for Germany, land of origin of these minorities, but a small number of inhabitants left their native places, with their presence and activities, local traditions. Although now a minority in their own villages, the Saxons began to build a future in villages inhabited by their ancestors for centuries. Prince Charles, of England always an admirer of rural life in these places and the owner of several units both Viscri and in the neighboring countries, invited the representatives of the Saxon villages (Viscri he visited in 2002) at a symposium in London. We will visit the fortified church, we turn to the village and a Saxon traditional lunch will be served with local products (organic), accompanied by wine and brandy always produced on site. In the afternoon we will continue our journey in order to discover the city of Sighisoara, one of the central cultural centers of the Saxons. We will visit the medieval town of Sighisoara (UNESCO World Heritage) and return in the evening at the guesthouse in Sinca Noua.

Fifth and sixth day, 50 km hike through the forests of Transylvania

aereoport baneasa 50 km hike through the endless forests of Transylvania, home of the large carnivores. We will cross the forests and fields we will cross beautiful mountain, we will be able to make long galloping races up to, in the afternoon, in an area where the life of the inhabitants is not changed much from the old times. The work in the mountain farms is still carried out with the support of oxen or horses, not feeling the lack of running water and electricity. We will camp in one of these farms with a fantastic view. We will be served a traditional dinner cooked on the field, and spend a long evening around the campfire telling stories. The next morning, we will gather our things and we will ride along forest trails and roads through the wild forests of Transylvania. We can enjoy the spectacular views of the Carpathian Mountains.
